On the afternoon of Thursday, November 26th, the progress of the LIFE SOLIEVA project and other projects in which collaborate the National Technological Centre for the Food and Canning Industry (CTC) and the AGROFOOD cluster were announced. In this Conference, coordinated by the Training and Technology Transfer Service of the Murcia Region, with the collaboration of the National Reference Center for Canned Vegetables from Molina de Segura, held online, we can highlight the iWATERMAP project, funded by the Interreg Europe program, for the boost it is giving to the water technology sector and which may be beneficial for SOLIEVA project. The head of the CTC’s Environment Area, Miguel Ayuso, presented the progress of the SOLIEVA project, while the AGROFOOD cluster presented the Good Practices detected in the iWATERMAP project, which have served as an example for the development of an Action Plan regional focused on the water technology sector and supported by stakeholders in the Region of Murcia. It is about an Action Plan focused on: i) IMPROVING THE CRITICAL MASS IN WATER ISSUES; ii) EXPANSION OF HUMAN CAPITAL, TRAINING AND EDUCATION RELATED TO WATER and; iii) INTERNATIONALIZATION OF WATER-RELATED COMPANIES, which includes different activities that could be supported by the CTC and the Development Institute of the Region of Murcia, such as the inclusion of a thematic block on water in the food industry in the International Symposium of Food Technologies, which is held every two years, and is a meeting point for the critical mass of the consolidated agri-food sector in the Region and with international impact.
